After sugaring for many years on the Sprague Farm in Whitingham, Marty, Karen and son Rodney now 30 and the 6th generation of Sprague’s to learn the age-old art of making maple syrup, realized many customers would like the full maple experience. A recycled church building, native Vermont lumber, tons of concrete and the help of family and friends led to the dream becoming reality.
Sprague & Son Sugarhouse on the side of busy Route 100 was built to provide easy access for people passing through to stop in and visit and watch the process of maple syrup being produced.
With help in operations from dedicated friends, Katie Bristol, Grant Fisher and Mark Miller. Sprague Sugarhouse is entering its 23rd years of welcoming multiple generations of people looking for a Vermont maple experience.
Karen uses the different syrups to hand make many other products including maple candies, maple spread, maple sugar, maple crunchies, maple coated nuts and other seasonal items. Karen has also developed a formula to use Hood soft serve ice cream with our VT maple syrup for the best maple creamies imaginable.
Open daily during Sugaring season. Weekends and Holidays the remainder of the year. Free samples of all of our products are always available.
Sprague’s Sugarhouse also offers bus and large group tours by appointment. Guests can also enjoy sugar on snow year round.
